Silly sewing machine question

(from a beginner, obviously): are bobbins just bobbins and interchangeable or do I need to buy specific ones to fit my machine? Confused

I think they are interchangeable - certainly for a large number of machines anyway. I bought some off ebay without having to worry about the make of my machine. I could also use them at the school where I did an evening class.

Some are different sizes so check before you buy.

SoupDragon · 30/01/2011 19:44

There are a few different sorts so you do have to get the right one for your machine.

there are different sizes.
what kind of machine do you have?
my singer and janome use different sizes.

bigbadbarry · 30/01/2011 21:15

I've got a Janome - will look out for ones to fit it, then (or take one from it to the shop). Thanks!

Try the local market....there is a cheapy indoor market that sells individual pieces.

How do you know where I am? Confused :)

My machine's Janome too. A friend gave me a bagful, assorted and all ages, and I was surprised that they all fit as not all same brand.

shodatin · 03/02/2011 17:12

How many do you require? Could send some to you.

bigbadbarry · 04/02/2011 11:14

Oh thank you that is so kind! I just bought a bag of 20 off ebay :)
