I'm wanting to capture my ds handprint in either clay or on a mug as gifts for grannys christmas. Can anyone recommend any safe, easy to use clay? Or perhaps a mug painting kit?

Also, any tips on capturing the handprint?

If you go to www.24studio.co.uk I think they have the mug kits there

You can buy some seaweed based stuff to make a mould then used plaster of paris. Most good craft stores stock it. I used it to make my DS foot mould. It's about 6.99 for a box. Can't remember what it's called just that it's made with seaweed. You put baby oil on the childs hand before you mould.

I got a mug from sainsbury's- plain white one for a £1 they do plates too. Everyone last year had a green and red foot from my D with merrry christmas on it! Any art shop with do paitn called pebblo and you bake in oven for around forty mins. They do pens too if your not so good at writing with a paint brush.
Everyone loved them and they were a lovely little momento of my D at 3mths.
P.S. the paint costs about £4.00 a pot and pens about £3.00. Much cheaper than the 'glaze to amaze' etc... kits

feet much easier than hands imo

We did a little plaster of paris one when ds was about a year old. It wasn't particularly easy, but it turned out OK. It was in a little kit just for that purpose.

I have ordered some ceramic paints and mugs - can't wait to try it out!
