My cosy, cosy slipper socks.

Hello everyone, crafting newbie here Smile

I really wanted a pair of cashmere socks/legwarmers but wasn't prepared to pay £50 + for them.

I do like my second hand cashmere and my sheepskin insoles, so decided to try cutting the sleeves off a too-small, shrunk in wash purple cashmere ribbed cardi from M&S and attaching them to a pair of sheepskin insoles with linen thread. The first sock was a bit messy, the second, I pre-pricked to make sewing easier.

Result - pair of cashmere and sheepskin slipper socks for under £10 (cardi was £4 in charity shop, insoles were £3 incl post)

I've also made DD a pair of mittens from old wooly socks, and an UKI doll which you can just about recognise Grin

they look really nice and cosy MO - what a great idea, what do you do to stop the edge of the sleeve unravelling at the cut of point?

KurriKurri · 05/01/2011 23:28

Ooh I like your necklaces too - very pretty Smile

KurriKurri, I didnt do anything to stop the sleeve unravelling bar cutting at the seam as it was already "finished" IYSWIM?

Thanks for your nice comments about my necklaces too Smile
