Sizzix/quickutz questions

Ok have trawled a bit through the posts but cant find the answers to these questions...

I am thinking about asking for a die cutting machine for Christmas. I prefer the quickutz dies but was wondering if they would work on a sizzix machine or a sidekick. Would I need any converting bits as well. We are on a tight budget so the machine needs to be as cheap as poss.

And alphabet dies- are the sizzix ones cheaper than the quickutz? What about the price of dies generally.

Please tell me all you know.

Wow, thought the card makers would be asleep .

Am looking at ebay in hope of bargains. Can I use a quickutz die in a sidekick? How different is the sidekick to a normal one?

IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT GO FOR A SIZZIX (oops caps on.) as they take all dies. it also takes lots of diff materials. zipemate is also good for same reason.
a quickcutz handle uses the wrist alot so bear that in mind.

Go for the Sizzix....its far more robust and there is hardly anything on it that can break.
You can then get convertor plates which you can buy to use other die cuts....quickkutz etc.
The sidekick is Ok but I prefer the sizzix.
Ebay is your best bet because they are going there for around £35....unless you know anyone in the states who is coming back to the UK....I saw on a US site for $30....now thats cheap!!
