Just in case people are interested, my DH has just done his first iPhone app (as an evening hobby, its not his day job!) which is called Craft4Kids - just out in the app store, only 59p, and has fifteen activities to do, like Lollipop Santa and Christmas lanterns.
Worth a look if you're after ideas for stuff to make with kids 
(ps was designed by dads for dads, so mums might smile at the simplicity of the instructions but is hopefully foolproof 
ps thanks for all the sewing tips, I have just made my DD a dress and now starting on her sister's - its a learning curve!
