Mosaics??

I'm a bit confused here - I have comissioned an artist to make me a mosaic

But he seem unable to find a waterproof grout - I have suggested that he try swimming pool tilers as they are obviously waterproof

But do M/Netters have any idea of a waterproof grout for mosaics?

It's a long shot I know...but?

Confused Is ordinary grouting that you would use in a shower not waterproof enough!!

Apparently that's what he uses and the edges start to crumble (after only a few weeks)

Swimming pool installers are your best bet - is there a pool shop near you at all? Did find this so waterproof grout is available.

I am a big DIYer and my best thing is mosaics in the bathrooms. I used normal tiles that I've smashed up with a hammer and normal waterproof grout. They don't leak.

Surely the artist hisself should be able to source his materials? It sounds as if he hasn't done one in a wet area before - does he know what he's doing?

He does Mosaic pictures (but they are for indoor)

He hasn't done an outdoor one before

I'm starting to think he's a bit wet (iyswim)
