Hello

I'm planning on making these with my dd for small Christmas presents. (I think I got the recipe off mumsnet.)

Does anyone know what granulated citric acid (vit c) is please? Is it the same as the powdered sort you get from the chemist?

Any advice gratefully received.

[sorry - vit c is ascorbic acid I think, not citric acid - anyway, not relevant in this instance Confused]

I found I could only buy citric acid from craft suppliers online - pharmacies rarely stock it, as it is used by addicts to cut their drugs.

I've seen people recommend trying -
health shops
asian grocers
independent pharmacies
anywhere that sells wine-making ingredients, inc Wilkinson's

you might have to ask, as sometimes it's stocked under the counter!

Good luck - if you can find it in a shop it's really cheap...it's having to pay postage that costs a lot.

Thanks so much for the advice thell¨

That's really useful - have a wine shop near me with all the processing equip. so will try there first.

Meant to say - yes, totally agree with you about the postage costs

By the time one has bought moulds and dried lavender/rose petals on line etc etc the concept of a 'home-made' (cheap) present has flown out the window

Thanks again for your help! Much appreciated!
