We are making maracas for a school project. I have two plastic bottles but they are clear so I need to paint them somehow. What can i add to the paint to make it stick? PVC glue? and how much?

Anyone??!! Thanks.

I'm not sure what you could add to the paint but an alternative suggestion would be to use some really course sand paper to roughen the surface of the bottles and then the paint should take.

PVA glue. Not sure of the exact amount.

Another vote for PVA glue - Mr Maker does it all the time - half paint and half gloopy glue.

I seem to recall watching a Mr Maker programme where he added something to the paint, poured it inside the bottle and shook it.

Will sandpaper if not, thanks ANTagony.

Another vote for sandpaper to make the surface rough so the paint has something to grip.

Mr Maker is the expert - half paint and half gloopy glue!

I've tried the paint and pvc. Seems to have taken, but who knows what will happen when we add the seeds/rice!

I'll let it dry and report back.

Thanks again.

I use acrylic paint to paint on wax, so I would think it would work on plastic too
