Have just watched the slightly annoying KA making things.

Glass fusion looks like something I'd like to try.

Any tips?

I have a friend who runs courses in Yorkshire. If you're interested I could put you in touch. Smile

Best to go on a course. Not cheap, but great fun. If you're taking it up as a hobby, best to use someone else's kiln, they are really expensive to buy.

amistillsexy, v interested though would depend where in Yorkshire - big place! Does your friend have a website?

loopy, after a quick google am quite Shock by cost of kilns! There are microwave ones but small

You need to make sure the coefficient of the glasses you are fusing is the same. This means they expand and contract at the same rate as they heat and cool. So you can't just fuse any old bits of glass.

I'd try a course first. Lots of places run them - what area are you in?

If you like it and want to invest in some equipment, there are places in Stoke on Trent that sell reconditioned and secondhand kilns much cheaper than new. Tempsford Glass on the A1 near Bedford has a good selection of glass, frits, enamels etc. I think they do courses too.

I'm in west Yorkshire.

Ah, that explains it. Have seen ref to 90coe, which now makes sense- thankyou!
