Dingle - i LLOOVVEE the little angel - so cute

the angel is really cute! I also like the christmas tree - that is really clever. When you say that you sat there cutting reindeers, do you mean that you cut those shapes by hand?

I cut the large reindeer, the angels etc by hand,
but I have borrowed a few quickutz dies, so the smaller reindeers are all cut with my sizzix!!

Dingle - how do you do the pink cheeks on the angel? if you dont mind me asking!

Hi biglips, I use chalks or an old blusher
applied with an eye shadow applicator. I do quite a bit like that, great for shading around the edges, to give a feeling of more depth and dimension IYKWIM!

Will you be raiding your make up bag now!

Hi Dingle, those cards are lovely - I particularly like the angel and the Christmas tree - also the background paper on the 3 reindeers is great.

Dingle those new cards are gorgeous.I think the angel is especially lovely.I really liked the felt xmas tree too.Last night I thought I'd have a play with some nice pink wire I've got.I made it into a xmas tree shape and then with the long bit left over I made a spiral shape by winding it around the inside of a pen and put different coloured beads on then kept doing it to each layer that I zig zagged up the tree. Then I stitched it onto some purple felt and stitched gold snowflakes around it and added a star sequin. It didn't really take too long to make except it took longer because I made the snowflakes.

ok Dingle... another question then! Are quickutz dies made by sizzix or are the pieces interchangable?

I'm so full of questions and really do appreciate you all sharing your knowledge. I have learnt so much

No problem kiwibelle.

No quickutz are designed to be used on a quickutz hand tool as here

but sizzix have recently made an adaptor so that you can cut quickutz dies on a sizzix machine. To do this though you need both the convertor and an adaptor as on here

Hope that helps, but don't look too closely unless you want to get one!

I do want one... desparately! But I am being patient and waiting and, thankfully, gathering heaps of knowledge along the way. The links are fabulous, cheers.

Don't know too much about it but I do know there are new die cutting machine due out on the market soon, the prices of both sizzix and quickutz have really come down.
both sizzix and quickutz have their own websites which are worth adding to favourites, that way you can gaze at them and make up wishlists! There are worth looking at again every now and then for a bit of inspiration too.

I have the sizzix catalogue with rings around the things I want . I am really waiting patiently for my husband to be bringing in an income to justify the purchase. I didn't think it would be this long. He usually waltzes from one contract to another! It's interesting that there are other types coming on the market and the competitive prices will be good for me.
