Buying fabric online

Where can I buy beautiful fabric online? I have just got a sewing machine, and am thinking of stuff I could make. Looked at fabricland, and efabrics, but both seem designed for people who know exactly what they want. I am more interested in a site that lets me browse patterns so I can see a pattern and think, 'Aha, yes! I'll make a cushion / pair of baby trousers / other Simple Thing from THAT lovely material!'

Am trying to find a local fabric shop, but there are none in the areas of London that I go to regularly, and so even if I can find something, I won't be going there regularly and browsing, more doing a quick smash and grab to find something specific, if you see what I mean.

I'm afraid I don't have any answers, but I'd be interested on any replies! I've just got a subscription to Sew Today and want to start using my patterns again!
