Costumes - it's that time of year!

I need to construct a 'townsperson' costume for my 4yold wee girl's nativity play. I'm quite handy with a needle and have a lightweight sewing machine so can manage most things. (Also have my mum and sis here this weekend so some more advanced help). But I'd like to do more than just a teatowel - any ideas/blogs/websites.

Help me clever crafters!

Oh my DD is townsperson! IS your DDs play in a traditional style? If so, we have been given a sort of loose faktan type thing in a dirty pink colour...its cotton, long and has long sleeves which are quite loose and baggy.

She has a green sash thing around her waist aand that's that!

You could go for a log skirt with a plain white long sleeved blouse and an apron?

KAFTAN! not faktan!

grr...LONG skirt...not log skirt! Grin trying to imagine what a "log skirt" would look like!
