buying sizzix dies

can I please have your advice? I am thinking more about this sizzix machine (ok, dreaming of hubby telling me he has got that elusive job so that I can go back to my frivilous ways of spending money). Is it ok to buy the dies and things second hand from places like ebay? I guess I mean - do they have a life span? Is there anything I should be looking for to know that I am getting an item that works (do they wear out)?

I can't wait for the day that I am comparing sizzix b&p with you all!!

I haven't got one
I think others have bought off Ebay - but I'm sure someone will be along to give you some advice
The dies just cut out shapes etc. so I imagine that they would last !

thanks for the tip - I will keep a look out for Beaniebuddy2000 when I am in a position to purchase. I know what you mean Whizz about the possibility of them not lasting once they have cut out loads of shapes. This is where my question came from! Thanks you two.

Im just about to place my first big sizzix order.....which dies would you buy????

AuntyQuated · 18/09/2005 20:40

as in -- your retail order.
why not look at beanie doo-dah on ebay and see what he sells most of

champs · 18/09/2005 21:36

jayzmummy -- go for dies you'll use most often. then go for a couple you really love.

actually, do you mean for you to sell? if so then the doll and bits are v. popular. then the new ones that were launched this year at CHA.

BTW, did u decide to take an ad out?

Sizzix - yes I would choose bodies & clothes - the things that are hard to cut out by hand & shapes that you can't get as a punch.

I would buy yours Yorkie....if only I had the machine to go with them !!
I think JM is stocking her shop !

Dingle · 18/09/2005 23:40

Oh YG, I'd have it too, but that would mean me buying the doll body. Only have the bitty body ATM.
Just cut out by hand 30 little angels!!
Really enjoyed doing them though. Found some lovely fluffy wool for their hair.

I would also say bitty/doll bodies and clothes. I also love my tags and hearts.
