Where do you buy your felt?

I need some felt for a sewing project (the thin stuff not the sort you use for felting work). This is a bit of a first try so I don't want to spend alot of money - p&p seems to be so much everywhere! Can you tell me where you get your felt? Thanks Smile

Well John Lewis sells felt on the roll and you can buy it in 10cm incraments, and they also sell A4 sheets of felt but that's more pricey.

I buy the felt by the metre when I need a lot (for dressing up clothes etc.)

im sure john lewis sells it in their crafty bit.

Oh I only need small pieces. It's to make a sort of picture on cloth. I thought JL would be quite expensive?

Do you have a market near you? Quite often you can get felt at market stalls.

JL can often be cheaper than independent shops for the same things.

I got a pack of different colours from Felt Girl. P&P was £1.80.

I bought a piece about 12" square for 59p in Hobbycraft yesterday.

The Felt Fairy on Ebay I've found to be the best for wool mix felt. Free P&P, good delivery, she also does a colour chart. I don't like the 100% acrylic stuff, this isn't squeaky.

I use lupin. she has a great range of colours and is v friendly. plus she's a small indie seller, which is nice.

Lupin uses the same stuff as The Felt Fairy, as I've bought from her too, but the fairy is cheaper not charging P&P.

Right, I've gone with the starter pack from the felt fairy, thanks. No-one needs to tell my DH I've just spent £11 on felt.
You ain't seen me, right
