We are trying to find some things for DD's Christmas pressies, we have seen Ello, but are a bit clueless as to what it is.[hconfused]

Any ideas? Would a seven and five year old enjoy it?

we have some but have to say we struggled to buy it last year. We've got a big set (from T.K. Max) its good, the my girls (8 and 5)like it, although wouldn't say it played with as much as playmobil or barbies

Its kind of like lego but different (hmm, not sure that is that useful). DD has some, but it never really seemed to hit the spot the way that lego does. IMO either lego or playmobil is much better value for money (at least dd plays endlessly with both, and hardly ever with the ello).

DD has this set - there are a lot more bits than shown here, this link on Amazon shows the sort of things it can be made into.

It doesn't seem as flexible as lego, much more prescriptive in what you can make.

We got the set dd has very cheaply on ebay, so I guess she isn't the only kid that got bored of it (Well, unfair, it could have been grown out of I guess.)

I would buy playmobil myself, seems to have more play value than anything else.

Thanks for your replies, I have seen a couple of sets on ebay.

We do have some playmobil, and was just looking for something different.

Thanks.

dd is four and loves it, I can see her playing with it for many years. She is imaginative and makes structures that she says are a shed/pet shop/cinema etc. Then toys get to play in and around the structure. We were very lucky and were given it free. It is different from playmobile and lego in that you can build something bigger quicker and it is flexible (not the material, which is plastic, I mean you can use it different ways).
