I am going to make a rug!

I have decided to make my own rug for the foot of the stairs so it will be doormat sized.

I am terribly excited about it and will get designing as soon as I can. I will buy the canvas and 'wool' (prob acrylic) online- anyone recommend a supplier?

The biggest issue will be the maths- how much of each colour will I need etc? I'd get a ready to go kit but they're so expensive and often a bit Holly Hobby i.e. twee...

How exciting. I have just spent today counting how many squares I need for a big double quilt (572) and then I ordered the fabric. Can't wait to start my new winter project.
