Does anyone have any good ideas foro Hallowe'en decorations I can make with DS1 (quite an arty 4yo) next week given it's half term? I thought we can make pumpkin bunting like this but out of paper but anything else?

Spiders: Cut raised parts off egg boxes, paint black. Punch holes around open edge, thread in 8 black pipe cleaners (or 4 cut in half). Stick on white paper eyes with pupil drawn on.

Ghosts: Make ghost shape by drizzling glue onto stiffish paper. Before it dries, add black paper eyes and mouth. When dry, cut out, punch hole at top and hang it up.

Ghosts:

White bin bags.
Permanant marker.
Balloons
Scissors
fishing wire

Cut the handles of the bags raggedly then put an inflated balloon inside the bag tie round the neck with the wire and draw a spooky ghost face on the head.
Hang using fishing wire.
These looked great coming down our staircase and on the tree in the garden last year.

Pumpkin window.

Large section of orange crepe paper
Scissors.

Cut out a large face (the kind you would carve onto a pumpkin)
Stick in upstairs window.
looks really good at night with the light reflected behind it.

Glitter Bats,

cut Vampire Bat shape out of folded card,

dab of glue for eyes & maybe "ribs" of wings, then dip into tray of red or green glitter (old ice cream tubs are great for glitter dipping :) )

punch hole, add string or fishing line, hang up....VOILA :)

(will work with any other spooky shape you can think of :) )

Aggggghhhhh glitter! That's scary enough! Great ideas though - I'm all inspired. Thanks

I got purple paper folded over and cut out a circle, drew eyes d a mouththen stuck 4 black straws on each side and a string on top ... big spooky spiders!

haha, yes I can relate to scary glitter, but have found painting on the glue & dipping into deep sided tubs of glitter, & all done on a tray makes a HUGE difference to the mess....honest :) ......trust me, I gave birth to little miss sparkle, so I HAD to find a way :)

Spider - pom pom and wool legs, couple of wiggle eyes

Spiders web, either string dipped in glue and stick to paper, or just lines of silver glitter glue. You can then cut out a spider to spick on it.

cut out a pumpkin shape or use a apaper plate, mix red and yellow paint to make orange, paint the pumpkin and stick on black paper shapes for eyes and mouth and maybe a green leaf of a stalk.
