How would you make a monkey costume that isn't too hot?

Ds is determined to dress as a monkey for Halloween.

We live in a very hot country.

How can I do this without cooking my son?

Can you make one?

You could make one out of a light fabric like cotton or jersey?

How about a monkey mask, with a brown t shirt and shorts, and a long furry tail tied around the waist with elastic?

this worked for ds when he was around 6.

I shall combine both of your ideas and make a shorts and vest monkey suit with tail on elastic, and maybe ears on a headband, and paint on a monkey face.

Give him a banana and we're done.

Excellent!

Thank you.

No worries,

What about fangs as well, if he wants to be an extra scary Halloween type monkey?

YunoWhatYouDidLastSummer · 19/10/2010 20:38

I asked him if he'd like to be a scary monkey and he said no, he wants to be a happy monkey.

He is 2.

He has already ballsed up the family plan (well, dd's plan really) of going as ghosts (children) and Ghostbusters (adults). I have got all supplies needed to make this, but there is no point making a ghost costume for him, he is adamant he won't be a ghost.

So we are going as one ghost, two ghostbusters and a happy monkey.
