Help!!! Need two costumes for school this week!!!

Would anyone out there be able to give me advice on how to make a Pharoah's outfit for my DS who is 8. The other DS has to dress up as a boy during WW2. Short of running to Oxfam to buy stuff I am unsure of what to do.
Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted.

The boys at our school just wear white shirt school shorts and cap, with a luggage label on coat. Small cardboard box wrapped in brown paper hung around neck with string for gas mask box.

Thanks for that Skippy. Am going to have to buy some stuff as we don't even have long school socks, although black footie socks might do.
The Pharoah is more worrying, as I don't want to buy a special outfit, so will have to make some kind of headdress thingy.
