price of alpaca fleece

I've been given several bags (big potato bags) of alpaca fleece for spinning and was asked to pay 'what I thought it was worth'. Can anyone give me any guidance on what alpaca goes for, as I have no idea?

wow, lucky you- try Scottish Fibres, I was on there last night and saw they sell alpaca. I was recommended their site by a felting/spinning friend who is quite cost driven so I assume their prices are fair. Is it cleaned and carded, because if not then you could definitely pay a bit less!

No, it's not cleaned or carded, but I've found I don't always have to card alpaca - have you found this? (or am I doing something wrong).
I've also found alpaca much cleaner than wool- I'd find it very difficult to go back to wool now.
