Life drawing for parents and kids - good idea?

So... I've been desperate to go back to lifeclass for ages now but, for the want of childcare, I've not been able to. Which got me thinking... DD is 7, draws constantly, is pretty calm and sensible - why can't she come too? I'd love it to be a shared activity too.

Only, there aren't any weekend classes nearby to attend together.

So - I'm trying to set one up. Do you think this is a mad ideas?

And - are you in North London, and do you fancy coming?

Happy to get feedback.

I don't think it's a mad idea at all, but I think you will have to get accreditation and jump through all the Elf & Safety hoops one has to these days. Kids and half naked bodies is going to set all the alarm bells ringing. Ask at your local AEC to see if they have a tutor willing to do a small one-day family class then get a group together. Or maybe ask the head of art at DD's school.

I took my DD (8 years-old) to life drawing class once (lack of childcare) but that was a very long time ago. She did some fabulous charcoal drawings - it's amazing how a child sees the human body in a different way to us adults. It was quite humbling in a way - her images looked like Henry Moore's.

Sorry, I'm not in London any more. However, do take your DD to the Gauguin exhibition

I haven't been yet, but am looking forward to it.

Ya...no....I see your point but its unlikely you will get many takers..it's the nudey bit. I have been to a lot of life drawing classes and my overwhelming memory is of naked hairy/fat old men....never take my DC's to a class like that.
