I want to dress my family as the peppa pig family.

I am sure you know what they look like.

I was thinking blue shorts and t-shirts for Dh (Daddy Pig) and 2yo ds (George).

Dh already has a beard and glasses.

Ds has a green dinosaur.

What shall I do for Peppa and Mummy Pig's red and orange dresses?

How shall I make snouts, ears and curly tails?

How will we look like the peppa pig family, not just some pigs in clothes?

PLEASE help. I am depending on Mumsnetters to help me work out how to do this.

id say masks, as peppa pig has a distinct head shape iyswim, although 2yo may not want to wear a mask.

other than that i am not much use, but this will bump you up the list.

Think you do prob need to make masks, otherwise wouldn't look especially 'peppa-ish'. Also prob need to make them as shop bought pig masks wont quite do it. For 2 yr old could use facepaint as unlikely to wear mask & everyone will get the idea anyway. For dresses maybe crepe paper in cape like way but fixing at back instead of front (obv wear some real clothes under!) or sheets/material from charity shop depending on how much time you have. Although card/paper more likely to give 'cardboard cutout' look that they have. Maybe like a sandwich board idea? Curly tails could make out of pink card, pipe cleaners would be good but only if you have them. Hope helps at all

Really? Masks?

Oh.

I was hoping that normal clothes (ie an artistic interpretation of the Pig family's outfits) with ears on a headband and a snout on elastic would be good enough.

I don't think I can make masks. And I don't think we want to wear cardboard cutouts.

We are sort of Peppa-ish anyway. Dh sounds just like Daddy Pig and has a beard and glasses, and dd is a typically bossy 4yo big sister, and ds is 2 and likes to clutch his dinosaur. I would have done rosy cheeks, drawn on Mummy Pig eyelashes. I was going to wear a simple orange dress with the snout, ears and tail and be Mummy Pig.

Dd in simple red dress with same.

Dh and ds in plain shorts and t-shirts in the right shades of blue with piggy accessories.

Children with rosy cheeks too.

Is that NOT GOOD?

Be honest.

Tippychoocks · 30/09/2010 19:54

Wear what you've said but do masks too.
