I've knitted similar when I was a teenager so I know I can, in theory, do it. Would prefer it not to be cropped. I resent buying knitwear when I know I can make it myself. (for twice the price...)

There are plenty of cable aran type sweater patterns available. Ravelry is good to search for patterns, some are free, but others are priced.

I was browsing the yarn shop this morning, sirdar have some single patterns available, usually about £2 a pattern, or about £8 for a pattern book with more than one pattern.

Have you got a local knitting/craft shop where you can check out their pattern books? Our local one is amazing, sofas to sit and browse through the books and tons of yarn available, so if you are doing a jumper and need 15 balls they have it in stock. Get Knitted in Bristol.
