I love my sewing machine, and the poor thing looks so sad that since Ive moved I havent had it out to play - give me an idea / pattern some thing to make.

I quite fancy making a quilt... but dont know where to start really.

i have an old iron that doesnt heat up propera;;y that i sabve for making craft projects. wouldnt trust him with a new iron that reaches high temperature. teatowels are such a fab place to start. the glue gun thing sounds like something ds would do.

I did a beginners quilt course at Tikki London and really loved it - most of the others that were there were new to sewing too.

I love this blog Crazy Mom Quilts There are some tutorials and a couple of great "quilt-a-longs".

If you want to do something other than a quilt my first project was this bag only I blew mine up from A4 to A3 on the photocopier. I have used it ALL summer despite the wonky stitching.
