Can I make this dress?!

Please can anyone help?

I have been looking for a dress pattern similar to this:

www.whitestuff.com/MY-TREAT-DRESS-P28036/

I love the shape and style of these dresses, but can't seem to find (despite much searching!) a similar pattern. I am not quite at the modifying/ designing my own stage yet :)

Many thanks in advance!

you have tried all the regular pattern books? vogue, newlook burda, simplicity?

i am sure their were several similar patterns when i was browsing in the shop the other day. just cant rememeber which pattern book had more of this style.

just a thought, have you looked for a tunic top in the same style? Modifying that would be easy, honest! All you should need to do is follow the line of the sides down on the pattern for the top to the length you want the dress to be & then cut out the bottom of the dress parallel to the bottom of the top on the pattern. Making up is then exactly as the pattern states. (I've never been someone capable of designing my own patterns, but altering length like that is dead easy :))

Hi, thanks for the replies

I have been through the regular pattern books - the dresses always look a bit odd in those to me - I think maybe I'm not that good at 'seeing' how they will look in a different fabric etc.

I am going to head off into town and try again with those (with a bit more imagination :))- and definitely search for tunic tops to try and modify a bit as well - great idea.

Thanks again
