One to one photography lessons

Hi - I am an amateur/semi-professional portrait artist based in Surrey. I have been taking some of my own source photos but my best work has been based on studio based photos taken by others (and with their permission). I want to start entering competitions but need to be able to take better photos. I tried adult education classes, but the lecturer was a much better photographer than a lecturer and I gave up. Also, I just want to concentrate on portraits and studio lighting. I don't need to know how to pose the models and compose the picture - I do need to understand the camera and all the other techno bits and bobs. I have a Nikon D90, images in my head and models lined up.

I am looking for someone who could give me a few one to one sessions and who could perhaps help me with a photoshoot. I am prepared to pay or, alternatively, I could paint a portrait of the photographer or loved one/s.

Please PM me if you are interested.

Hi EldonAve - no. To be honest, had never heard of it. But I don't really want to formal course. I'm looking for some one to one tutoring so that I can sut to the chase.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
