knitting project for my son any ideas ?

ds2 (11) has just learnt to knit. so far just a knit stitch. what could i suggest he makes other than a scarf or a coaster?

An advent calendar with pockets to put sweets in, or a Christmas stocking? That gives him a few months to get the thing ready!

Hats can be quite simple, and quicker than a scarf. He'll need to be able to decrease but it's really not hard.

My 10yo DD loves this book. She has taught herself lots of techniques from it. Your son might find it a bit babyish though...
