Roman Blinds?

Has anyone made these? Were they easy to make (for a sewing novice)? and can you share the pattern / helpful tips please? Am feeling too cash strapped to pay someone to make them for us!

I have made Roman blinds and they turned out OK. They are reasonably simple but involve a lot of steps and are therefore v time consuming.

The sewing bit isn't hard but accuracy is important - measuring, lining up, that sort of thing.

And them I found almost identical ones in IKEA for less than it had cost me.

I am intending to have a go at these as it seems very straightforward. I bough the Ikea ones and hated them....

I made some, I used a kit from John Lewis but you don't really need a kit - it just makes it a bit less hassle because you don't have to separately assemble all the bits of dowelling etc.

As LYM says they are not complicated but it did take a long time. You need a big table and ideally no playful cats.

It probably is cheaper to buy them, I wanted a specific fabric so had to make them myself.

Thanks for the speedy replies! I wanted a specific fabric too that's why i was thinking of making them.
