Thread for blanket stitch

Hi,

I am a beginner at this so apologise if this is a basic question.

I want to make a blanket using fleece and I want to decorate it with a blanket stitch around the edge. What type of thread do I need to use for the blanket stitch?

Thanks in advance.

Any washable, medium thickness thread probably: embroidery thread, fine (4-ply) knitting yarn. You also need a needle that has a large eye but a sharp point to get through the fleece - I think they call that a Chenille needle.

Nice threads would be Anchor soft embroidery or pearl cotton, see here

Thank you very much - that's just the info I was looking for.
