I bought a few smallish plastic boxes (the kinds with lids that stack) - one for sticky stuff and pom poms (!), one for paper and one for colouring stuff - different colours for each one and they get shoved wherever at the end of the day. They're not much bigger than a large shoebox - perfect size.

yes now that DD is into crafty stuff I'm suddenly want to hoard everything for junk modelling! I actually swore at myself when I unthinkingly threw away one of those foamy pizza tray things!

Stuff them in a cupboard and 1 shelf. Will throw away anything that spills out of that space. Use various recycled boxes to store pens glue etc. Have a 1 ring binder for art stuff and fold stuff into that. Good painting go on the wall in the kitchen only and get changed every few months. So far I think the teacher has done more work than him. When he has produced something wonderful and totally independant I will frame them.
