Dilated ascending aorta 20 week scan

Hi there,
My baby was diagnosed with a dilated ascending aorta at our 20 week anomoly scan. We were under St George's throughout the pregnancy. Scans showed a consistent z score of between 3.5 and 4. The professor described this as a 'mild' dilation but the score seems more moderate to me. Baby boy is now 5 weeks and a follow up echo shows that the z score has remained consistent. We are being referred to aortic specialists.

I can't stop worrying what this means for him. How likely is the z score to normalise? I'm terrified he may have an underlying connective tissue condition or that he may require surgery at some point. Has anyone else experienced this?
