False positives at NIPT are very very rare, I’ve never known anyone who had that be the case, but have my fingers crossed for you

I'm also in a similar position, high risk NiPT result, T18, waiting on an amnio next week. Trying to hold onto some sort of hope. The wait is horrific.

I had a false positive on NIPT. It was a high risk for T13. We didn’t do CVS as it’s likely to mimic the NIPT as they are testing the same placental cells.
Amnio, both quick and long term culture came back clear.
If your scans are completely normal with no whatsoever indication, I’d hold my breath and hope for the best. It was a very difficult and depressing month for me, so I understand very well what you are going through.

Thanks everyone we were due to have the amnio today however they couldn’t do it as they said my placenta was covering to much so they had to do the CVS - I wanted the amnio because of that exact reason even more worried about what the results are going to say now

Yes i did, my NIPT and CVS both came back high risk/abnormal for t21 and amnio was clear. My little boy will be 2 in Jan and all fine. They did say it was very rare but it can happen. It’s horrible to go through the waiting and keeping my fingers crossed for you.

@CB1209 did they automatically allow you to go for the amnio test? I’m hoping our medical team allow us to do this with the ultrasound being fine and the nucal fold being in normal range.

Yes they did - they said it was confirmed from the cvs but because scans had always been normal they agreed to the amnio although it was me who said I wanted it. So sorry you are going through this x
