Pregnant with twins (non-identical)

Hi there.
I found out yesterday I'm pregnant with non-identical twins. This is my first pregnancy. Looking for advice from people with twins. I'm 11 weeks. I'm also wondering whether to find out the gender or not.
Thanks in advance.

How do you feed them, change them etc at the same time?

Feeding, whether you bottle or breast feed, when they’re babies… invest in twin pillow. I had 2 (only from Asda) and had one for home and one for when I went out. If you do some bottle feeding… whenever someone pops over or there’s another person in the house, ask them for help! But you quickly get used to both hands being out of action for large periods of the day!

Whilst they’re very young they’ll mostly be in babygrows anyway, so you just get them dressed when you can, keep one entertained on a playmat for a few mins whilst you change their sibling!

My advice to any twin parent, try and be organised (ie doing any prep you can the night before) - doesn’t come naturally to me- but I know it helps! Accept help and support from people who offer it. See if there’s a local twins group near to you. And don’t pressurise yourself to feel like you have to be doing what people with one baby are doing (I almost sent myself loopy trying to get two babies out of the house to various classes etc…)

It does get easier as they get older and the reward of watching them bond and having a ready made play mate make up for all the extra work.

if I can help with anything else do let me know xx

They’re not 100% non-ID unless boy/girl twins.

same sex twins with own sacs and placentas can still be identical. Read about it and educate the doctor.

My girls were “non-identical” but a DNA swab after birth confirmed they’re identical twins.

I am a lone parent of teenage twins. I managed from day one on my own 😊 my advice is to ignore anyone who says double trouble etc. it’s really not as hard as people make out .
