1:66 chance of DS

Im 34 and expecting with our 2nd child. We have recently had our 12 weeks scan which highlighted an NT measurement of 3.8mm and were referred to our local fetal medicine unit at the hospital for further testing and a more indepth scan. The scan has revealed that the femur and AC measurements are 3 percentile although no further anatomy issues. At the indepth scan the NT measurement had gone up to 4.7mm and I now have the combined test results back at 1 in 66 chance of DS. We have been referred for an amniocentesis, which is in 2 weeks.

Has anyone had any experiences similar and what was the outcome?

Exact same age, DS2 was 1:48 for DS. Amniocentesis done, and everything was fine.

No markers other than small baby with a short femur at 20 week scan. Combined screening was 1 in 3262 chances but NIPT came back high risk (worth noting Im 41) so did an amnio yesterday. Waiting for results now

Thats so positive, congratulations! Do you remember if your baby ever measured small? and what was your nIPT outcome?

Im so happy it all was OK for you - any reason you didnt do the nIPT? did your baby measure small? TIA x

So a 65/66 chance of not having DS.

We went for a growth scan at around 37 weeks because he was measuring small but he was born at 39 weeks at 7lb 2

the NIPT came back at low risk, waiting for the results were the hardest part, it’s a week I would never want to relive.

but after a lot of research the screening tests the NHS give you are ridiculous, if I have another baby I will pay for a private NIPT test
