Referred to fetal medicine

We’ve just come back from our nhs 12 week scan, I’m roughly 13weeks and 4 days (the sonographers didn’t actually give me a due date). Firstly, they were having a really tough time seeing anything. They couldn’t see my uterine vessels, took them ages to find my ovaries, and baby was completely vertical so they had much trouble doing the head to rump measurement. Worryingly, they have told me its head looks abnormal and are referring me to fetal medicine. The sonographer said “it could have dire consequences for your baby in the future.” Yet sometimes when they swiped over my belly, the head looked normal! I’m so confused and upset. I’ll attach a photo to show, but has anyone else been in this position and things turned out fine? ☹️ We’ve had private scans, one last week, and everything looked ok - nothing abnormal was mentioned. Oh they also said I didn’t need to have the blood tests to rule out downs/edward/patau syndrome yet. Which I’m worried about too because I’m nearly 14 weeks!
