Low PAPP-A and HCG - 1:413 for Edward's/Patau's

Hi,

First time posting and looking for advice/reassurance.

When I had my daughter 3 years ago my risk for Edwards/Patau's was very low - something like 1 in 15,000. This time it's come back as 1 in 413. I also received a call to say I have low PAPP-A (0.31) and low HcG (0.26).

Whilst it's still technically low risk, I'm quite concerned that the odds are so different from last time so I am looking into getting NIPT privately. I don't really know where to start though - there are a few different types. Can anyone recommend the test they had? And how long did it take to come back?

I would also love to hear from anyone who had similar results to see what their outcome was.

Thank you.

Hi @NFFC1992 i appreciate this is a slightly older post but I have had similar results and I’m driving myself crazy looking for answers online.

my nhs screening came back low risk 1:4000 for all 3 however I can’t helping feeling this is wrong?

thank you in advance

I had 1 in 76 for Edwards and pataus so much higher risk than yours. Genuinely the worst week of my life waiting but when I look back, the screening midwife said she'd never seen a result of 1 in 50 or less come back positive on the NIPT. I wish I'd been able to see at the time how unlikely it was and calm myself down. Our baby is now 1 and absolutely thriving with no known syndrome or issues. Please put down Google it absolutely will not help x
