NT 6.8mm….. that’s really, really bad, isn’t it

12 week scan yesterday showed the above.
This is a surprise pregnancy at 41, but very much wanted, once I’d got over the shock.

There was a problem with the printer so we dont have the report. I don’t know about any other signs. They did struggle with getting the measurement though and kept asking me to move to get baby to move.

Bloods were done but because it’s so high we have been offered a scan by a consultant and a CVS before even getting the results.

I’m going to ring Arc today but I’m reading and reading and I can’t find any stories that are positive with this high an NT.

There are some positive stories out there. All you can do now is follow the pathway they offer. It must be very stressful.

I also had my scan done last week at 13+3 and was told the NT was 6.3mm. I had a CVS on Friday and still waiting for results. I have been told the chances for Down syndrome is 1/2, which is the worse result I could’ve got. Did you get your results back yet with any answers?
I really hope it all goes ok for you. I am also worrying as have barely seen anyone with an increased NT being so high.

I hope you have had your results and they are okay

Sadly my story does not have a happy ending. The scan showed hydrops (fluid/swelling) over baby’s head, face and chest, and a problem with the heart. We were offered a termination immediately but chose to have a CVS to be sure, which showed Down’s syndrome. We were then offered further scans but after lots of research and soul searching we have decided to terminate the pregnancy. I really really hope it works out for you @Ckathleen - I have seen some positive stories. All the best xx
