CVS test for righ risk Down syndrome

Had my 12 weeks scan last week @ 12+4 came back the babys NT was 4.2mm following my blood results they have said i have 1:8 chance of my baby having down syndrome, im 26 and had 3 normal straightforward pregnancies, i have a CVS test tomorrow and i worrying myself sick, does anyone have any advice/stories, any information appreciated

Hi, sorry you've not had any replies to this. It is likely that your high risk result is due to the increased NT reading.

I had a high reading in my last pregnancy (8.7mm) and had a CVS. The results came back clear for chromosomal abnormalities but we ultimately decided to terminate the pregnancy as our prognosis was poor.

Your NT is quite a bit lower and read about lots of women whose babys had similar readings and everything turned out fine. Wishing you the best of luck and hope you manage to get through these next few days whilst you wait for the results. It's very very hard, take care of yourself.
