When I went for my 12 week scan they were unable to takr the NT measurement due to baby being in a difficult position. I was told I'd have to come back and they will re scan me, the woman who performed the scan took me to reception where she told them to book me in for a scan in two weeks time, appointment made and off I went.
In the meantime I was called up about them needing to re do a blood test due to it coming back inconclusive, we arranged for this to happen at the re scan appointment I was booked in for.
day of the appointment I turn up and I'm told I'm not booked in for a scan it's just bloods (the quad tests) and the re run of the inconclusive, I was told I must be confused and got it wrong, even though the woman who scanned me specifically stated that I was to be re scanned, I was there I have good hearing and memory so to be told I misunderstood was rather irritating to say the least.
Bloods taken and results came back as 1 in 5000, pleased with that.
My partner and I wanted to know the gender of baby before Christmas so we booked a private scan, they checked baby over and told we were having a healthy and active baby boy.
yesterday I finally had my mid term scan (22weeks to the day) once again baby is in a difficult position curled up and not wanting to be scanned, she didn't manage to get all the measurements but she did get the NT which came back as 6.8
She did this measurement a few times and said she wasn't happy so has referred me onto to the Fetal Medicine Specialist this coming Wednesday for them to scan and finish off the mid term scan. I wasn't old anything other then it's coming back higher then she would like and wants it to be checked, she said most cases she does this resolves itself and is no issue, she said don't be concerned or worried.
Once home I've had a Google as to see what it could mean and why it's important and of course as Google always does , it's made me concerned and worried. Wednesday feels like it's five months away.
Hoping someone who has been through similar situations has any advice, or information they could share.
