WWYD: ongoing saga with Harmony test at kings

So keen to hear what others might do in this scenario. Got a high risk Downs result in my 12 week combined test. 1 in 84, i.e. about 98.8% chance the baby does not have Downs. I'm 41 so not unexpected.

At Kings so was offered the Harmony test with results in 2 weeks. Didn't hear anything and only after phoning repeatedly and 3.5 weeks later got someone to tell me the test had failed. Was offered a retest, now nearly 3 weeks later again and haven't heard results despite phoning and asking PALS to help resolve. TBH i feel so stupid for consenting to the test - I'll be 20 weeks soon and would now continue with the pregnancy regardless of test outcome. I wouldn't risk pregnancy loss via amnio.

Did anyone else have this wait for Harmony results at Kings? Did you get a call or a letter?
Is it possible to get the Iona test in London? Understand this is more sensitive for taller/bigger BMIs (I'm hefty which is guess caused the low fetal fraction in the first test).

Or WWYD, would you just put testing from your mind and focus on the pregnancy? The waiting and not knowing is really hard, we've hardly told anyone about the baby. Bleurgh.

Hi there - wanted to respond as nobody else has so far. I can understand that you would want to know, even though you would intend to continue with the pregnancy. The wait for results must be so frustrating. I had the harmony test following a 1:175 Down’s syndrome chance. You must be close to your 20 week scan date now. They can look in detail for other “markers” for Down’s syndrome at that scan, which might give you more information/reassurance? I found that scan to be most reassuring in terms of baby’s development, probably more reassuring than the harmony test results for some reason. Wishing you and baby all the best x

Thank you so much for this, and updating in case anyone else has this too. Relieved to have got an email with low risk results in the second Harmony test. Pals and the midwives were great in chasing down the result for me.

Kings do the anomaly scan at 22 weeks so it's a long wait - I'd definitely pause and consider screening before saying yes again. So fortunate to be able to move on with this pregnancy and probably find something else to worry about

Glad it was good news for you - what a relief! On to worrying about other things now!
