Hi all, my baby's HC was measuring around the 5th percentile at the 20 week scan. The sonographer said technically it's still within normal range, but would need to be kept an eye on with growth scans. All other measurements were around the 35th percentile and no abnormalities detected. Has anyone else had similar? What was the outcome? I've got a follow up scan Thursday (currently 25weeks) and just so worried.

@Pinkflowers1 do you know when your appointment is yet? The doctors will want fetal medicine to take a closer look. Hopefully nothing of concern will be found and you will get some reassurance. Crossing my fingers for you.

I had this and everything turned out fine.

@SearchingTheSkies aw thank you, can’t believe it’s been so long now! Baby Delphine is nearly 3 months old!
she’s great, she’s CMPA and we’ve had some feeding issues but she’s such a beautiful presence in our life. We got another app through today for next month so I’ll keep you updated. How’re you and baby? X

mummyto3nearly4 · 18/08/2023 16:58

Sorry what’s CMPA

bakewellbride · 18/08/2023 17:00

Hi I only just saw this message I honestly have the worst fear in my brain any excitement I was feeling has gone I just want to break down and cry I think it’s more of the not knowing, I pray all our babies are ok I’m really sorry if I seem little dozy as I don’t understand written things very well need things broken down I really appreciate the reassurance from you all it’s lovely to have somewhere safe to let out our worry’s

SearchingTheSkies · 19/08/2023 20:14

@Sprinklerainbows that's wonderful news. I hope things continue to go well, but you have your beautiful girl safe and sound and that's what's important. I love her name!
My little girl is 4.5 months and rolling, smiling and trying to laugh. All going well thanks.

@mummyto3nearly4 sending lots of positivity and peace your way. Try to focus on the fact that nothing has been found to be wrong and your little one is being well looked after.

@SearchingTheSkies aw thank you!
wow that’s amazing! Sounds like she’s hitting all her milestones early too.

@mummyto3nearly4 I do completely understand the worry. My pregnancy was ruined. We decided to not go ahead with some of the invasive testing we were offered and it weighed heavy on my mind (the not knowing) we were told she may have a genetic/chromosomal condition but wouldn’t know until after birth. But my baby had a very small head, along with an echogenic bowel and a few other issues, so a different situation to yours. We had to have conversations with our consultant regarding the possibility of TFMR (termination for medical reasons) at 23 weeks- which would always have been a no unless she’d have had no quality of life.
We are now having the genetic tests but… our baby is here, she’s beautiful, happy, she’s smiling (the only issues have been with feeding and she’s not really holding her head yet, but all babies developed at their own pace and I’m not concerned right now)
when your baby is in your arms, you’ll forget all the worried and it will be completely magical I can promise you that! Xx

I feel so lost I’m having trouble finding any calm atm I’m in a panic I feel like the unknown is so scary isn’t it I’m so glad your baby is well I’m praying I have a good outcome on the 30th with the medical docs I don’t even want to think about termination absolutely awful

MissGigi · 22/08/2023 15:55

Reassurance needed please as I’m a nervous wreck! On my 29 week growth scan my baby measured on 50th percentile overall. Head circumference was on 45th percentile. Fast forward to yesterday 30 weeks +4 and although overall she’s still on 50th percentile, her head is now 6th percentile?! Everything else between 40/60th. Makes absolutely no sense to me, no one concerned and now an agonising 2 week wait for the next scan. Has anyone else had this? She’s head down low in pelvis.

pottypotamus · 26/08/2023 13:42

Hi @MissGigi
Try not to worry, if you've had normal measurements less than a week earlier I would say the most recent measurement was likely due to your baby being in a position that isn't convenient for head measurement and so the result was out a bit. At your next appt, hopefully baby is in a better position for a more accurate measurement again Smile

pottypotamus · 26/08/2023 13:42

Sorry less than two weeks earlier.

MummytoIslaJane · 31/08/2023 21:45

Hi,
I had my 20 week scan 2 weeks ago. They said tummy was under 5th centile but couldn't get all measurements because of way baby girl was lying.
Have been back today and tummy is still under 5th centile but they haven't mentioned tummy to much.
It was more about her head measurements. They are on 3rd centile.
On the scan it showed 20 weeks +3. So about 2 weeks behind to how far along I am.
This is my first baby, she's so wanted and so loved and I'm so scared.
Shes been moving about ever since but I've got another scan next week.
Her femur was on 11th centile last time and now on 10th. But both her head and tummy measurements shown she has grown in mm.
Just seen this post and thought id share incase anyone else is in my shoes.
Scared mummy x
