Hi all,

going to read through all your threads next but I got given a 1 in 149 chance of downs today. I have seen some of yours are higher and I’m so sorry. How has everyone found having an nipt? I’ve had my blood taken but now got a wait for results 😭
im absolutely devastated x

Hello OP. DS was a 1:54 chance of having Downs. We had the amino - and it was fine. All normal. He's now a strapping 20 year old at uni.

I remember the worry OP. Sending lots of positive wishes.

Hi OP. I can relate to the shock and devastation as I felt similar when I got my DD's (postnatal) diagnosis. 7 years on and she's a superstar. Hard work, yes, but no more so than my NT 4 year old....

Oh my goodness that must have been a shock! Was there no indication on tests?

It’s a worrying time for you OP, but I wouldn’t say that was a high chance at all, based on that result.

I’ve just had my screening results through from the combined test. Does anyone know what the pappa a and hcgb levels are expected to be?

Just wanted to thank everyone who has been on this post and commented. I heard this morning that it is highly unlikely the baby has Down’s syndrome now (nipt results back) x

Fabulous news @MelissaD10!

Yes, when I got the news, blurry eyed at 9.30 in the morning, 4 hours after giving birth, I was absolutely shell shocked as it hadn't remotely been on my radar. My combined test had been 1 in 1900! But she is such a lovely girl, full of fun, loving life and loving school. She makes us so proud every day 🥰⭐️
