Hi all, extremely anxious about the 12 week scan and just the entire pregnancy really and there being something wrong or something bad happening at some point down the line. I’m one of those people who just expect the worst case scenario to happen to them. I’ve 3 kids already but I had them in my early/mid 20’s and all came back low risk at the combined screening. Obviously I’ve been reading up about the combined screening test and the older you get the more likely you are to get a high risk result. Now I’m 32 nearly 33 so not mega old but older and with my last 3 kids the older I was the higher the risk got (albeit still low risk) and wondering if I should wait for the combined screening result or pay for a NIPT privately beforehand so I will have some idea as to whether I have much to worry about for the combined screening result which apparently can take up to 2 weeks after your scan to come back then I’d have to wait for an NIPT or amino after that if I was high risk? For those of you who have been through this what would you recommend? Obviously I’d rather not waste money if it’s not necessary to have before but if it’s worth while knowing before then I’d like to prepare myself as best I can
