Hi everyone, this is my first thread here.

I guess I’m just looking for support/ reassurance. I had my 12 week screening and blood test on Saturday. The NT measurement was between 3.6-3.9mm the doc wrote 3.6 on the form.
Combined with the bloods I have come back with 1/26 chance of DS. I have done the NIPT blood test but I’m just waiting now for the results.
I’m British but I am living abroad and they have said they will available on the 7th feb! It just feels so long away. I will love my baby regardless, I guess what I fear the most is seeing people look at me with pity etc if it does come back positive, I hope that makes sense and doesn’t make me sound like an ahole.
It’s sort of put me off sharing the news more widely yet but I’ll be 15 weeks when I get the results!

I guess this is more of a long expression of how I’m feeling rather than a question. Anyone who’s been in or is in the same conversation let’s chat! Xxx

@LazyYogi you will love your baby no matter what, that is a given. It's our maternal instinct.

My second was 1/56, I was 31 and didn't expect but we had discussed before that If it's T21, I will keep the baby.

I didn't do any invasive testing or the NIPT, the baby had echogenitc bowels and everyone then asked about Down syndrome anyway, we had bi weekly scans we then just expected to have a baby with Down syndrome.

He came out and does not have Down syndrome. He's now 9 months old.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to update this for anyone looking in the future. I’m now 24 weeks and I had a fetal echo done today. The baby’s heart is developing as it should.

Even if you have a high risk combined test and the worrying wait for the NIPT results, it can still turn out ok xx

Final update: My little one was born last week, no heart condition and all very healthy. No reason for the initial high screening test.
