No Hi,

4th March my little George was born. He had Patau syndrome and we decided on a post mortem. I’ve been waiting ages for the appointment.

Finally, it’s arrived. I’m having a telephone appointment on Tuesday. On the letter it says we’ll discuss the post mortem results, any questions and to plan any further pregnancy.

What does the ‘plan any further pregancy’’ part mean? Am I overthinking it?

Also, I have some questions I want to ask. But what questions did you ask your consultant/professor?

I’ve already posted in ARC, but thought I’d ask on here too 💙

Hi OP. I know this was posted a little while ago but I've just seen it and wanted to respond.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my boy to Patau Syndrome last year. He would have been one at the end of the month. I know its the most awful thing to go through and I hope you're doing OK (as much as you can be).
My main concern was that being in NI, when we hopefully do have another baby (we had a miscarriage in March), that I would get things like nuchal translucency done (it's not offered as standard here) and that I could have my 20 week scan done by a consultant as looking back, there were things missed on ours the last time by the sonographer, namely a heart defect and the start of growth restriction.
If you have any questions you didn't get answered, do you have a bereavement midwife? I have one supporting me and although I don't require her support day to day, instead of having to go through my GP to get booked in I can speak directly to her and I can use her as a link to my consultant and fetal medicine midwife for any more questions I might have.

Hi OP I’m so so sorry for your loss xx your little boy will be well looked after in heaven xx could I ask - if you wouldn’t mind answering of course, did you have the screening and nuchal translucency and anomalies scan at 20 weeks and was the condition totally missed? I am currently having a worrying pregnancy xxx sending a hug x
