Hi there,

I had my 20 week scan and I bow have a consultant ultrasound appointment booked at 24 weeks, my husband and I have to have bloods drawn tomorrow.

Anyone had this and it all turned out to be fine? Apart from that, no abnormalities on the scan. He just looked perfect and I love him so much already.

Hi all- just wanted to quickly say very similar story to you guys. E.B found on 20 wk scan on 8/1 - absolutely terrified and spent the next few weeks in total meltdown. Drs confirmed and sent for bloods - none showed anything.
F/u scan this Monday showed the bowel has totally resolved. All that worrying for nothing! My feeling is mostly this is an incidental finding that means very little. There is a great forum on whattoexpect too with so many happy positive stories.
Hang on in there - it’s awful waiting I know xxxxx

Just thought I'd post an update for anyone that may be following or who is in a similar position to what I was. I had my 28 week growth scan today (first scan since the 20 week scan picked up that baby had an echogenic bowel) and good news is that the bowel is no longer echogenic and baby's growth is on track too measuring around 50th percentile. Feel like I can finally breathe a sigh of relief :) Hope all is well with everyone else too x

Hi,

Just as this helped me this week - scan picked this up on Monday, they wanted to rescan on Wednesday, when I went back in they said that they needed to see it 'bright as bone' to be worried and it wasn't, so told me there was nothing else to worry about. The Dr said it was just one of those variables that most of the time didn't show up as an actual issue.

Also reassured by these posts. One of us is a carrier of a cf gene but obviously they can only test 90% in the standard test. I'm dreading my follow up scan at fm incase the bowel has got worse x
