Hi all,
I had my dating scan today and I must have got my dates of my LMP wrong as instead of being 12 weeks that I thought I was I’m now 15 weeks! This is fine but I now can’t get the combined test for the three Downs/Edwards’s/Patau and could only have the blood test for Downs’. Just wanted to know if anybody had this situation with being further on/not being able to have the combined and can send any reassurance I am just worried something will be wrong with the little one with me missing the opportunity!

Hi @ALEB you could still get the harmony test if thats an option for you?

ALEB · 14/12/2020 20:53

@Happy2be what is that test I haven’t heard of it?

My twins wouldn't sit still for the testing so I was only offered the blood test for downs - I paid extra to have the NIPT test done privately

Yes, harmony test. It’s a test for the same syndromes (and lots of other things). Blood test I think. Generally has be paid for privately though - c400 quid in London

Will have a look into it, thank you!

I chose not to have any testing done (a lot of people I know don't) if it came back with anything I wouldn't terminate the pregnancy.
As pp have said there is the harmony test you can do!
Congratulations on your pregnancy x

Thanks all, I am booked in for a NIPT test just to be sure! Glad I asked as I had no idea it could be done. X

@ALEB I just wanted to let you know that the NIPT is only 99% reliable for T21, not so much for T13 and T18. It can happen that you get false high probabilities for these. But simply for a piece of mind it should be enough if there are no other markers on scans.
