Anti D Antibodies Found at booking appointment

Hi there,

This is my first time posting... I am generally a lurker on the forum!

I am just looking for some advice in relation to my blood tests from my booking appointment. My midwife contacted me to say that I am rhesus -ve but they found anti D antibodies in my blood. I am around 12 weeks pregnant (scan next week).

This is my third pregnancy (previous two ended with mmc - both managed by D&C and giving Anti D injections after the procedure). The most recent being in September (fell pregnant straight after with no period in between).

I have been advised that no follow up care is required and I will be giving routine monitoring which means I won’t see my midwife again till 23 weeks.

So I suppose the question is... does this seem correct? I know google is not my friend... but it appears that I should be getting more regularly monitored?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I am rhesus negative with antibodies permanently in my blood. I have had 11 dc and no issues during any of the pregnancies! Raised levels at times but no danger to me or the baby. Keep in mind though any bleed at all needs reporting to your mw.

Thank you for your reply! I am just overly anxious because of previous losses I think.

If you don’t mind me asking, were you offered any further testing or were you pregnancies managed through routine management?

Im rhesus negative and when pregnant 4 y ago I was given an anti D injection, in case baby was not the same blood type.

This time around the science has advanced and they can apparently tell baby's blood type. She's different to me and so again I will have the anti d.

I presume if there are anti d antibodies it could mean baby is the same blood type as you, meaning no need for anti d?
