Is there a best time to have NIPT/Harmony?

I’m intending to have the NIPT (probably Harmony). Is there a best week of pregnancy to have it for more accuracy?

They usually offer from 10 weeks onwards, but there's an chance that there's not enough fetal DNA in your bloods so the test might have to be repeated. How sure are you on dates? Have you had a scan yet?
If you can, I'd wait until 12ish weeks.

@NoCallerID thanks for replying. I’ve had an early scan so quite sure on dates. I think I’ll wait until after my 12 week scan though.

The fetal medicine team at my hospital said that if you'd be happy with a low risk result from the nhs screening then may as well wait for those results before having the harmony. Also they said that the gold standard next steps for a higher risk result from the harmony test is an amino at 16 weeks rather than the cvs so if you have a harmony at 10w and get a high risk result then it can still be a long wait to find out if there is anything wrong or not. I see lots of people on here having cvs though and I don't know what the difference is.

You can be low probably on the NHS combined test, yet high probability on the NIPT or the other ones. The combined test calculates a chance. It could potentially be wrong. (I know two couples this happened to.)
You could have the harmony at 10 weeks. CVS can be done from 12 weeks and Amnio from 15 weeks.

*low probability
