Anyone waiting for CVS results?

Hi, this is my first post here, having read every possible thread on NT measurements and CVS’s over the past few days! I had my 12 wk scan last week and the midwife confirmed a high NT measurement of 4.1mm. She didn’t take my bloods to carry out the combined test score, instead I was taken to side a room and told about options for the harmony test or CVS. This came as a huge shock as we had a private early scan where everything looked okay and we have stupidly already told our families we are pregnant with child no.2.

So, decided on CVS which I’m having today and I’m going armed without a list of things I wished I had asked at my original scan (is there a nose bone present, any other ‘soft markers’ etc). I’m hoping that we will get a bit of an indication from the scan today ahead of getting the initial results from the CVS on Friday. I’ve just found this whole experience completely awful and that there has been such a lack of information, which has made the process so much worse. I’ve really found reading these threads the most helpful thing in getting me through the past few days. It’s helped to prepare me if there is going to be something found through the testing, but also given me hope that everything could be okay! It still feels like a long road ahead waiting for the initial CVS results, then the full results two weeks later and then potentially a heart scan following that. But, it’s helpful to know others are going through this too and I’m not alone.

Anyone else having/ had their CVS recently and currently in the horrible waiting period?

Hi all, just wanted to say I had a NT of 3.6 also at 12 week scan, got referred to fetel medicine and the NT had disappeared at 14 week scan, i was offered the NIPT as i had a 1 in 15 chance of DS, luckily this has come back as low chance so I didnt bother with the invasive tests as so far scans and heart checks have all come back normal, also my heart scan was cancelled at 23 weeks due to covid but they check it very well during my anomaly scan at 20 weeks, to date I am 31+3 with a little boy that never keeps still lol, i do have growth scans and they check the heart every 2 weeks, i worried like crazy all the way through this pregnancy and couldn't really enjoy it as ive been so scared but this group has helped me massively x

Waitingandhoping1988 I’ll wait and see what the NIPT result is, but if it comes through clear I’m really struggling to decide if I should do the CVS or not, I keep changing my mind.

From what my screening midwife said it sounds like we’ll still have the fetal heart scan.

@Missy38 thank you for that - that has definitely given me some reassurance that everything might be ok!!
@stripeydinosaur I haven’t actually been told anything about a heart scan - when would that be?
Unfortunately didn’t get a phone call today. It’s going to be a long weekend!

I’ve been invited for the heart scan at 20 weeks, it’s actually the day after the anomaly scan.

I’ve decided that I’m going to ask for the CVS, even though I don’t have the NIPT results back, I think I’ll be reassured by the full array testing and the 4.2mm NT is just weighing too heavily on my mind.

I went for the CVS in the end, and thankfully it’s come back negative for Downs, Edwards and Patau’s. As the NT was high I still need to wait another week or so for the full array CGH.

I really hope after that I manage to relax until the heart scan. The CVS at kings was actually quite a reassuring process, they said everything looked normal and did a really thorough scan, and the NT had gone down quite a bit - not sure how much difference that makes though.

That’s great news, so pleased for you. We had the results back from the Harmony test and all three came back less than 1 in 10,000 chance. So relieved!

That’s great, I’m so glad you had good news as well! Hopefully we can relax a bit now.

I'm happy for you
